What does Black Wellness look like?

With a global pandemic and an active struggle for social and economic justice in America, Black wellness must be viewed in the context of these critical issues:

Physical health: Exercise and adequate rest / Healthy diets and adherence to prevention protocols / Take care of your bodies – Prepare for struggle

Mental Health: Stress relief / Optimistic outlooks / Belief in God / Healthy habits / Understand that overcoming challenges builds character and strengthens resolve

Social Health: Support the movement for justice / Help people understand the context and breadth of the struggle / Define victory and personal success / Know that every defeat is another step toward final victory

Economic Well-being: Collect and build personal resources / Contribute to worthy causes / Be intentional about building collective wealth

Bright Moments, the company I have headed for the past 36 years, has continued our work as conscious practitioners of marketing and communications skills in the interest of supporting social, political, and economic justice for our people. We have recently begun a newsletter to share our collective wisdom and experiences to help deepen and focus efforts to address the issues we face. We invite you to get access to our newsletter by emailing Brightmome@aol.com to become a subscriber.
